Every competition on this site can be entered free by post. No purchase necessary, and a postal entry has exactly the same chance of winning the prize on the ticket as a paid one.

How to enter free

1Write it on a postcardYour name, address, date of birth, and the name of the competition you want to enter. It must be an unenclosed postcard — not a letter in an envelope.
2On Spot the Ball, add your squareThat competition is won by where you put your mark, so a name alone cannot enter it. Write the grid reference you want — the letter and number of the square, like E4 — exactly as they are printed on the competition page. One square per postcard, judged by the same panel against the same photograph as every paid entry.
3Post itNo stamp needed. One entry per postcard, and there is no limit on how many you send.
4It must arrive before the closeNot be postmarked before — arrive before. Allow a few days, and check the closing date on the competition page.

That is the whole address. No house number, no postcode, no stamp.

Same chance, genuinely

Postal entries go into the same pool as paid ones and are drawn the same way. They also carry the same instant win where a competition has one.

The leaderboard prizes are different

5 competitions on this site also run a skill leaderboard, where your own score decides a second, separate set of prizes: Sky Run, The Oche, Back of the Net, The 4:45 and Find the Score Draw. A score comes from playing the game, so a postal entry cannot take a leaderboard place.

What a postal entry does get on those competitions is the whole of the funded prize — the instant win on the ticket, which is allocated to a ticket number before the competition opens and is the same for a postal entry as for a paid one. That is the prize in the headline; the leaderboard prizes are site credit on top.

We never ask for a fee

Not to enter, and not to release a prize. If anyone contacts you claiming to be us and asks for money, it is not us.
