About this competition

The 4:45 A clock runs down from ten seconds. Stop it on 4.45 dead. Whatever your ticket holds is revealed the moment you tap — and how close you land decides where you sit on the leaderboard.

How it works: Buy a ticket and the clock opens the moment you have paid, one run per ticket. It is released a beat after you start it, counts down at the same rate for everybody, pauses once for one second at the same point on the clock for every entry in this competition, and stops dead when you tap. Whatever instant win the ticket holds is already decided and appears as soon as you stop. What your stop decides is your SCORE: the face gives you tenths to aim with and the board is settled on the hundredth, so the closer you land to 4.45 the higher you climb.

Leaderboard prizes: on top of the main prize, the top five on the leaderboard win site credit based on their final ranking when the competition closes.

  • 1st Place — £50 Site Credit
  • 2nd Place — £25 Site Credit
  • 3rd Place — £15 Site Credit
  • 4th Place — £10 Site Credit
  • 5th Place — £5 Site Credit

The countdown rate is identical for every entry and is not adjusted by device, connection or how many times you have played, and the clock pauses once for one second at the same point on the clock for every entry in this competition. Your instant win is allocated to the ticket number before the competition opens and is not affected by how you play. Leaderboard prizes are separate, are decided by your closest stop, and are awarded as site credit when the competition closes; where two or more players share the same score, all tied players receive the prize for that position. Backgrounding the page voids a run rather than scoring it, and the go stays on the ticket.

How the winner is decided
Two prizes, decided two different ways. Every ticket's instant-win result is allocated to the ticket number before the competition opens and is revealed the moment you stop the clock - nothing you do changes it, most tickets carry no prize, and the odds are published above. Separately, your stop earns a place on the leaderboard: the clock counts down from ten seconds at the same rate for every entry and pauses once for one second at the same point on the clock for every entry in this competition, your distance from 4.45 dead is measured in hundredths, and the closest stops take the leaderboard prizes when entries close.
